Welcome to the AFA relaxing café of team-building, ACC adjuncts! The AFA is eager to kick off our spring 2025 AFA Coffee Chat series. 

Each Coffee Chat you attend earns you one hour of professional development credit—think of it as an added sprinkle of cinnamon on your morning brew. These sessions are hands-on, so bring your current teaching materials to mix flavors, share skills, and brew new ideas together with your colleagues. We also invite our full-time professor colleagues to join in the brewing process. Let’s come together and stir up some ideas and enrich our instructional materials. 

AFA Spring 2025 Coffee Chat#1: Brewing Up Accessibility Training for Instructor Handouts

Our first delicious blend of chatting it up on Zoom will take place on January 29, 2025, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, where we’ll stir up discussions on the essential brew of accessibility training and how to prepare effective instructional aids, much like the perfect handout. Accessibility is a fundamental aspect of inclusivity that allows all students to engage fully in our classroom.

Our skilled baristas from the Office of Distance & Alternative Education will serve up a twenty- to thirty-minute demonstration, followed by an hour of practical brewing time. Don’t hesitate to have a handout on hand, as you'll have the chance to receive specialized advice from our instructional designers or a fellow colleague.
